Basket Class with Linda Scherz at Tug Hill Estate May 9 & 12, 2022 This class is Monday and Thursday for the two day baskets. Pack Baskets, Picnic/Shopper or One you want to make with Linda 9:00am – 4:00pm (with lunch) All weavers Pack Baskets This class will be fun for all weavers. Linda will demonstrate, teach you weaving techniques and guide you while you weave your basket. Students will be using a drawknife with shave horse and other sharp tools. Instructor will bring all materials to make the basket and tools students will need during class. Students should wear comfortable clothing. Baskets will not be stained during class. Adirondack Pack Choices: Hiker, Sightseer, Mountaineer (packs to wear) and, Junior (decorative pack) Class Fee varies with size of pack. Class fee includes all supplies, teaching fee and lunch. per student: Hiker $186.00 w, $205.00 l (1 1/2day, lunch 2 days) Sightseer $238.00 w, $278.00 l (2 days) Mountaineer $254.00 w, $293.00 l (2 days) Junior $125.00 w, $130.00 l (1 day) Note: w is a webbing harness and l is a leather harness Picnic/Shopper Baskets Large or Medium (both sizes are a one day class) Picnic/Shopper Basket Large Approximate Dimensions: 16” x 20” x 10”H Medium Approximate Dimensions: 11” x 13” x 10”H Weave your own Picnic/Shopper Basket. The basket has a solid woven base to keep everything secure in the basket for transport. The sides are a plain weave pattern. Lash the rim on, add the webbing handles made by Linda, and bottom runners to secure the handles. Purchase a table cloth at your local store and use it for a cover while carrying and to sit on while you picnic. This basket also fits in a shopping cart to carry your groceries. A selection of colors will be available for your webbing handles. Instructor will bring all materials to make the basket and tools students will need during class. Students should wear comfortable clothing. Baskets will not be stained during class. Class fee includes all supplies, teaching fee and lunch: $165.00 per student for large and $145.00 per student for medium Have another basket you want to make?
